A Dame for Danny Minogue

Mon ,30/11/2009

A decent decision was finally made on Sunday’s X factor when the two annoying idiots known as JEDWARD were finally kicked off by the now wonderful Danny Minouge, who in my opinion should be knighted. The show is barely watchable as it is without having to see those two nitwits prancing around on the screen. My thought as was that of Danny Minogue was that the show was a singing competition and not all about the entertainment of jumping around and wearing daft outfits.

Climate ‘is a major cause’ of conflict

Fri ,27/11/2009

The latest research by US researchers found that conflict was about 50% more likely in unusually warm years and climatic factors have been cited as the reason for several of the recent conflicts.

Professor of African Studies at the UK’s Bradford University Nana Poku said “I think it strengthens the argument for ensuring we compensate the developing world for climate change, especially Africa, and to begin looking at how we link environmental issues to governance,” he said.

“If the argument is that the trend towards rising temperatures will increase conflict, then yes we need to do something around climate change, but more fundamentally we need to resolve the conflicts in the first place.”

The Art of Osteopathy

Thu ,26/11/2009

This skills of an Osteopath can help you overcome some of the harshest of pains as they have the ability to manipulate the skeleton and muscles. The practise is recommended by many health professionals but like anything to do with your health, you should do some research first and ensure any Osteopath you use is a member of the British Orthopaedic Association and not a back street butcher with a hobby as they could do more harm than good.

Omniture vs. Google Analytics

Thu ,26/11/2009

Which is the best statistical program? Is there an answer to this question or is it down to personal choice. Google Analytics (GA) is owned and was created by one of the biggest companies and let’s face it, if it is to do with stats and search engines then Google know the business in-side out as they created most of it. Omniture on the other hand is a Mino compared to Google, despite just being purchased by Adobe Inc. GA is by far a quicker and easier to use package and best of all it is FREE where as Omniture is slow, can be unreliable and vastly expensive and generally used by only big companies.

Bank Charges

Tue ,24/11/2009

With the supreme court expected to decided if fair trading watchdogs have the power to supervise bank charges due on Wednesday, there is already talk of what the banks will be doing if or should we say when they lose. It seems to me that banks want everything their own way but it is about time things changed. If they do lose then it is expected that they will start charging to use cash machines, in which case I shall just stop using the ATM and go into the branch, which will mean more hassle and expense for them. If they want to charge for using a cheque then I won’t use cheques anymore (they are pretty redundant anyway). Why should I have to pay to use the services of a bank, they and society have made it difficult not to have a bank account and after all I am the one giving them money to invest and make a profit from and they make a healthy profit at that.

Mini

Fri ,20/11/2009

If you happen to have £11k – £25k to spare and are looking for a new car, then look no further than the Mini. Things have changed a lot since the original Mini, for a start the ride is a lot better, which makes it far less jittery at speed. Build quality has also improved, visually the cabin is a far more pleasing to the eye and the Clubman has a bit more space for those of you that need it.

Web Design

Thu ,19/11/2009

It would seem these days that everything is about the World Wide Web and having a web site is a must, just as having the latest seasonal wardrobe. The web has opened up the globe, so even the smallest of companies can do a little wheeling and dealing with the world from New York to London and Paris to Peckham. Web design Essex to web design Twickenham, everywhere you look people are offering web design.

Save the Planet, don’t make me laugh!

Wed ,18/11/2009

The big question is how do we save the planet, well if you are a labour politician then the easy answer is we tax, we tax and we tax. On November 1st the government’s air passenger duty tax has been increased in the first of two rises, which will mean that you and I will be paying up to £30 more.

The price of short haul flights rises by £1 and on business and first class journey’s over 6,000 miles up from £80 to £110. The government have said that it is environmental reasons for the rise, so it is good to know that they are looking after us.

Holiday Home Insurance

Tue ,17/11/2009

With all the stresses of life a holiday home is a nice refuge, somewhere to chill out and forget about all the hassle of modern day life. If you have just purchased your holiday home, your places of solace, then insurance is a must to give yourself a little more peace of mind.

Home insurance is not appropriate to protect your investment, that is why it is best to take out actual holiday home insurance. As with most insurance policies these can be specifically tailored to your needs.

Google Intelligence

Mon ,16/11/2009

If you find it hard to get hold of your analytics specialist then Google have now introduced a 24-hours 7-days a week dedicated assistant for you in the way of analytics intelligence. Ok so it is not intended to replace someone in the professional world of analytics but to find key information. It or G.I. constantly monitors your website traffic and if something significant happens it will automatically add an alert in your intelligence reports.
