Poor Tony

Fri ,30/10/2009

It would seem that not all is a certainty in the world of Mr Blair as his support for the newly created president of the European Council has yet to appear despite his good old chum Gordy telling all and sundry how much of a great bloke he is or to quote him “get real” and grasp a unique opportunity to get a “strong progressive politician” like Mr Blair as president.

A life’s Work

Wed ,28/10/2009

You have spend the best part of your life writing what is the best book in the world (or at least you believe it to be), your wife has divorced you and taken the kids because you were never there, well maybe physically but not mentally and you have been left on your own in what can only be described as an existence but none of that matters because you have finished your world changing book. A popup advertising online backup momentarily distracts your train of thought as you go to click on save, you quickly x out of the popup. You manage to click save and the final version is stored to your hard drive, then you make a backup and then backup the backup.

Royal Mail Strikes

Tue ,27/10/2009

Yet again the good old Royal Mail workers are on strike. With the state of the Royal Mail and it losing money and business they should count them self’s lucky they have a job. If the workers at my company don’t get the correct milk should we go on strike? Do you ever hear about our soldiers going on strike because they do not get the correct clothing or equipment, no you don’t and they are putting their lives on the line but they just get on with it and do the job.

Younger Wife = Marital Bliss

Mon ,26/10/2009

The latest research published in the European Journal of Operational research suggests that the pairing of an older man and a younger woman are more likely to go the distance. This is more likely if neither have been divorced, according to the team at Bath University.

The university interviewed more than 1500 couples, those in a serious relationship or married. They then followed up the interviews five years later to see which couples were still together.

The results were:

Property rip-off

Fri ,23/10/2009

How is it a house that cost £35k four years ago now costs £120k, has the house changed in some-way, no absolutely nothing has changed except some idiot decided that new houses in that area are now worth x amount of money and houses in another area are worth this amount. The only people who benefit are the councils because they can charge more in council tax, solicitors, the government with their stamp duty and home information packs and if it’s a new house, the developers.

Corporate Events

Thu ,22/10/2009

Normally I would walk past the guys and girls who are always trying to entice people to buy corporate events or donate to a charity, as who likes to be pestered in the street when all you want is to get yourself a coffee and food on what is already short lunch break. However for once I did stop and spoke to a guy about team building exercises as the company I work at has taken on a lot of new people and shooting paint at someone is always an ice breaker.

Honda Civic

Thu ,22/10/2009

If you are thinking of buying a used Honda then take a look at the civic. Introduced in 2001, the seventh generation is both economical and easy to maintain. The Civic has  front-wheel drive with a transversely mounted 4-cylinder engine and a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic.

Available as either a four-door sedan or two-door coupe, the Civic sits on MacPherson struts at the front and a double wishbone at the back. A rare find is the hybrid version released in 2003. Being a small car you would think they would lack space but not in the Civic and the interior finish is very good. With the instrument panel being easy to read and straightforward, the controls are simple and conveniently located.

Product design and Manufacturing

Mon ,19/10/2009

Today product design has become ever more popular due to programs like the BBC’s Dragon Den bringing out all the wood-be entrepreneur. Countries like China in-particular are one of the cheapest to produce goods once you have got your product designed through a product design company. The key to any product is production costs, the less it costs you to manufacturer, the more profit you will make. A good design company will be able to help with manufacturing. Producing a product out of the cheapest material is not always good and can have a negative impact on your product. Just because things are brought cheap does not mean that people want them to look cheap, again this is something a good design company will be able to advise you on. Although production is China and other eastern countries are cheaper, the ‘Made in Britain’ stamp still has a good saleability factor.
