What is Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) – Part 1

Fri ,28/08/2009

SEO is the process of improving the volume of  traffic to a web site from search engines.  The traffic from search engines, such as google is called “natural” or “organic” traffic. The objective of SEO is to get a web site listed high up on the search engine results page (SERPS e.g. the page the user sees). By getting a web site listed higher up in the search engine listings typically means the site will receive more visits. One of the processes involves selecting keywords that reflect the content of the web site, placing them within the meta tags and ensuring the web site is well placed within the search engines using the selected keywords.

Edward Kennedy

Thu ,27/08/2009

Another member of America’s most famous political dynasty has dies after a long battle with a brain at the age of 77. Born in Brookline on 22 February 1932, Edward was the youngest of nine children.  His parents, Joseph P. Kennedy and Rose Fitzgerald were both from wealthy political families.

His brother John F. Kennedy was elected president of the United States in 1960, only to be assassinated as he drove through Dallas. Edward’s oldest brother Joe was killed during the war and in 1964 Ted himself was badly injured in a plane crash. This was not the end of the problems which had befallen the Kennedy’s as Ted’s brother, Robert was assassinated in Los Angeles during his campaign for Democratic presidential nomination.

Shooting usually takes place at dusk as the bats forage and are hunted for food, sport and medicine.

Eventful Holiday

Fri ,21/08/2009

The day of our holiday had finally arrived, two week in Malta, complete with car hire and a nice hotel, lots of sunshine and nice food, time to chill out and relax. As my girlfriend used to live in Malta hiring a car seemed a good idea as she would know her way round and the car was thrown in pretty cheap. After a three hour flight from Birmingham to Malta’s International airport between Luga and Gudja and landing around one in the morning, the only thing on one’s mind was finding the hotel and going to bed but first we had to get the car. All went smoothly, we did the usual walk around the car, kick the tyres, check for scratches, sign for it and off we go.

Allotment or Mini Fortress

Thu ,20/08/2009

With the price of food increasing, more and more people are going back to the olden days of growing their own fruit and vegetables, but with modern houses having considerably smaller gardens than older houses people are turning to allotments. Allotment shortages have been fuelled by soaring land prices and demand. There are estimated to be around 330,000 allotments in the U.K. but the waiting list can be as long as the waiting time to join an NHS dentists.

T-Shirts, Custom T-Shirts, Retro T-Shirts

Mon ,17/08/2009

The t-shirt has a long and varied history and can be a powerful tool in politics and advertising as well as a fashion statement and has been used to place important messages into the public eye.

It was with the rise of the international trade during the industrial revolution in England that the history of the t-shirt begins. Cotton was found to be the best material after much test and was chosen to prevent the harder and rougher outer clothing from itching. Unlike nowadays the t-shirt was only seen on washing lines or back sections of a clothing store.
