Woah, as a heavy user of both products I feel you’re not doing Omniture justice here.

Sure, Omniture has it’s slow moments, but the depth and quality of it’s analysis tools are definitely of a more professional level then Google Analytics, in my opinion. A basic Omniture implementation is OK, but the big advantage over Google Analytics is when you start customising that implementation, tweaking it in such a way that the site shares specific values with the analytics tool. Once you start doing that, you can really take Omniture Site Catalyst to a different level – a level Google Analytics doesn’t allow you to reach.

Good post. I also wrote a blog post some time ago on the same topic. In my opinion the most important thing is that companies look at only the things that SC does that GA doesn’t – and then try to compute the monetary value of having those things.

Also, it is true that Omniture is used by big companies, but it is false for big companies to think that they can’t use GA just because they’re big. I’ve installed GA on huge multi-national company network sites without a problem. Here is my post:
